fifty one...

i woke up pretty early today..well, i usually do when i don't sleep on my own bed..i took a quick shower and headed outside for my breakfast..i ended up at Chowking... Jollibee was too crowded and i was too hungry to line up.

so here's my Cebu Breakfast..

orange chicken lauriat and tofu all for ME, MYSELF and I.

while i was eating, i checked on the Lay Bare site again so i could call them and make a schedule. I called and the lady asked what time will i go there.. i said 10am..

my FIRST BRAZILIAN WAX experience! woot woot!

i took a cab and almost got lost walking around the building. didn't know they were upstairs... lol

the receptionist was pretty friendly.. she escorted me to a cubicle and then gave me a towel and a cover up and told me where i could wash up before the big event.. lol.. i love what they did with the washup room.. they had stones at the floor, it was pretty small but it was clean and elegant...

she did it on me.. it was kinda painful but it was tolerable..the pain was just at the beginning, then you'll get used to it eventually.. and what happened after? well, i'm satisfied! i loved it.. it was so liberating! ;-)

they even gave me a loyalty card... too sad they don't have any branch in Davao.. it's good to be bare sometimes, if not most of the time... lol

Fifty half

call it bad luck.. lol

FIRST: Sampaguita Suites was fully-booked so we had to walk under the heat of the sun from one hotel to another. I ended up with C'est la vie Pension cos it was the cheapest.

SECOND: Crown Regency's DROP ZONE does not exist. I so wanted to jump and fall. I was so damn excited to do the free fall thing which they described in their site as "feeling the gravity against you as you fall freely down a 40-foot drop strapped only with a weighted harness without a cable." when the receptionist said it is still yet to come.. ouch!

THIRD: April and I went to SM to check on Lay Bare, a waxing salon. The directory said the salon is nowhere to be found. can i say ouch again? lol

It was a great bonding time with April though. She treated me at Not Just Coffee. We both had shakes. All i can say is that, mine didn't taste that good. lol.

My tourist guide had to go to work so it was time to part ways. I took a cab to Fuente Osmena while she took another one.

C'est la vie is creepy, i should say. The place was like a meet-up place for old foreigners and hookers. There were girls who look like hookers at the lobby so you can't blame me for thinking so..

FOURTH: my comfort room's light bulb didn't work. so i had to go downstairs again to inform the receptionist who then asked the guard to change it. booo!

no cable tv.. old aircon.. no phones.. plus i don't like the bathroom.. arghhhh!

so what kept me company then? oh well, my book, my laptop, my globe tattoo and my celphones..

it was around 9:30pm that i decided to go out and eat. i walked around the vicinity and ended up eating at Sunburst. i had a joiner around who stays on the same pension house and i could not shoo him away after i repeatedly refused his willingness to join me.. good thing his roommate and his officemate picked him up. aaaahhh what a great relief! i don't want any joiners when i'm doing my soulsearching thing..lol

FIFTH: 22nd Street was on standing. so sad! i had a backup plan though.. to have a foot massage but damn when i asked the lady at the reception area, they were already closed.. arrrgggghhh

i decided to have some drinks as plan C.. walked around the city for a cozy place to get some shots alone but i found none..all they have were bars full of people so i had no choice but to go back to my room and sleep.

what a day indeed!

today marks the 50th..so fifty it is!

i'm off the city.. miles away!

and yes it's definitely ME time for the weekend...

(patty and mac cancelled their trips but i decided to go on with mine)

my first ever ALONE trip..

big breakfast at the airport is a good start...

the plane actually arrived 15 minutes before the ETA.

so i called pring and kai so we could meet up...

i think i'll have to go with BLACK ANGEL next time, that would be easier i guess..lol

kai and erich (who actually came straight from work) arrived a few minutes after but the three of us waited for ms. d who came in at around 11am... hungry! hungry! hungry! kai said we check Kublai Khan's mongolian eat-all-you-can! hmmmm... definitely the way to eat lunch.. a beastly welcome for a travelling doormat..lol

i woke up with a sore throat early this morning but still i have to bring my ass to work.. felt like it's flu time for me so i had to take meds this time which i usually don't do.. oh how i hate being sick especially when there's nobody else to take of me but myself!!! missin' mom and pop much.. good thing i have my triple chocolate roll from Red Ribbon, Secondhand Serenade on my playlist and my little Niji to keep me company.. oh yes! my Niji's such an angel... and snuggle time with her is just so priceless...

my first real running shoes

call it retail therapy...

today i finally bought my first real running shoes, an ASICS Gel-Kayano 16. but before that i first went to runclub for my gait analysis..

RESULT: heel-striker with over pronation

Pronation is natural inward rolling movement of your foot as it starts to support your body weight.

so, i need a pair of shoes on the STABILITY line then...

i'm way to out of budget but what the heck?! these new babies will somewhat make me feel good and besides i'll be using them on my future runs...

on sunday will be your first run Kayano. sleep tight cos it will be your first 10K run when you wake up. only first 200 finishers will get medals, so please help me with that.

Twenty Seven

today is no work day.

as usual i spent my day off from work at home pinning myself infront of my lappy. i had a blast talking to rhodora, ghedi and jpflo. we were talking about life and love, love, love the whole time. it definitely made me miss ghedi times = billiards, movies and food trips (mostly unplanned!)

here are some of the winney lines that day:

i really had fun talking to you guys. thanks and i think we should do this more often. i am so much of a love-believer/keeper kind. it may not show on the way i look but all those who know me well will surely agree. "it aint over til it's over!" is my all-time love mantra. if it still makes you happy and then go. if things don't go well as you planned, then be it. those memories made you happy at some point of your life so how would that be a waste of time? besides, are you just going to let go without putting up a fight? (just saying.. or maybe just another excuse?lol) what's the best time to give up then? i think if you wake up one morning feeling nothing, then that's it.. GAME OVER!

moving forward. i decided to watch Johnny English that afternoon, that's after buying my running shoes (call it super expensive therapy!lol) it took me several hours before i finally got a hold of my first real running shoes and i guess another hour waiting for patty who had to extend a few minutes at work. so in short, i missed Johnny English .. but i had a great chitchat dinner with patty though.. i will have a separate entry for my Asics so as not to flood everything here.. lol

so it's a dinner date with patty. and since we both love japanese foods, we ended up dining at Red Kimono-Abreeza. our second... but this time we got a whole maki platter to ourselves.. yumyum!

we left the place really late and we hit Chicco de Cafe afterwards. i had nothing, patty had her coffee.. we checked on some mags on the rack and came across this picture. i just couldn't help but take a picture of it. lol

it's rainy and cold...

the city roads are flooded... too much traffic! i was supposed to buy a new pair of running shoes but ended up having dinner at Miko's Brew with Bamba and Michael.

hmmmmm... honestly, i'm not that satisfied with what i had. i should have ordered for a grilled porkchop or baby back ribs.. but it was a fun night talking about our pet dogs..

After dinner, i had my first bottle of San Miguel lemon flavored beer at Jickong's.. thanks Mj for the treat! i should say it tasted like cali... i liked it! Manong accompanied us after his work and we all ended up talking about marathons....

turned the lights on so i could take a photo of her, her cage and her bed

twenty-four. guess this is the answer i've been trying to look for.. i bought Niji a new big bed so she can sleep comfortably, it's actually a super big, soft pillow.. Oh yes she likes it! i can definitely see that.. she loves to use it cos it's soft, warm and comfy. but last night, i noticed something. she didn't sleep there. instead, she went inside her small cage. it was a surprise but i didn't make it a big deal. but tonight she did it again.. why would she do that? why would she choose to sleep in a cold, small cage with no mat on? i bought the big pillow cos i wanted her to stop lying on the cold floor or sleeping at her bare cage.. so why??? is it because she loves her old cage too much and just can't let go..or because she feels happier when she spends her night inside her first homey.. or maybe, just maybe because she loves her cage that much, no more no less.. hmmmm... Niji is like mommy.. she is definitely like mommy!

a letter to whoever

i woke up early today with my body clock putting me out of bed and in front of my laptop. oh yeah! my everyday morning routine. but today is a bit different. i'm damn feeling low and feels like hating the world this early. i just want to write this letter to someone whom i don't want to disclose.

Dear ________,

i promised myself not to hate you but one thing is for sure, i'm hurt.. the words you uttered just stabbed me from the core. i'm not sure if it is because i'm wondering why you said them or is it because you caught me unprepared with everything. my dear friend, your actions seemed inappropriate. honestly, i am tempted to put on my robe of pride again just to keep me warm from your coldness. but i have to remind myself all over that you have always been an exception to everything. my love for you is more than my precious pride. i just hope this hurt would vanish soon and that i can sleep well at night again. in time i will understand why but for now, i'm giving you what you are impliedly asking. wish you happiness. ciao!

this time i had a pretty long walk.. it was basically run-waaaaaaaaalk-run-waaaaaalk.. lol

an hour and forty for 12km... my feet were burning... i surely need a new pair of real running shoes and a comfy pair of socks... the 12km run is actually to pay off for the next 2 sundays that i wont be able to attend..

this is actually the first official run for the team RUNaways... more to come guys!

my share of the HOLY WEEK..

So what is VISITA IGLESIA? It is a Filipino devotion of visiting seven or fourteen churches in order to pray and meditate on the passion of Jesus Christ. It commences in the late afternoon or early evening of the Holy Thursday.

It has been our family tradition to go on seven churches on a Good Friday though.. and here's our route for this year...
